A field and service mechanic in the Convair Service Center, Leo Buczynski has worked on every Convair aircraft from the BT-13 trainer to the 990 jet transport. He joined field operations at Vultee Field in 1940, transferred to San Diego in 1944, and to the Service Center a year ago. He was crew chief on the NASA 990 during the solar eclipse chase in 1965. He and wife Helen keep busy with their avocado grove in Spring Valey and are now starting a macadamia nut orchard. They have four sons, two in the Air Force.
